Referencing Erika Denise Edward's work on the mutability of racial identity in colonial Argentina, this short video briefly introduces and contextualizes the notion of race as "stain"--and alludes to the subsequent erasure of enslaved people.

Haciendo referencia al trabajo de Erika Denise Edward sobre la mutabilidad de la identidad racial en la Argentina colonial, este breve video presenta y contextualiza la noción de raza como "mancha", y alude al posterior borrado de las personas esclavizadas.
This body of work is an in-process critical exploration of racial formation in two places that formed my own identity: Argentina and New England. Both were places of colonial importance, and, in both places, the history of enslavement has largely been erased.

Video is projected on hand-dyed linen using a traditional quebracho moreno dye. Quebracho is a tree native to Argentina which has long been used in the textile and leather industries.
